“In the Prater” is a play that depicts a bitter fight between Mrs. Zuckermeier, a proud Viennese woman, and Haris, a Bosnian. The trigger for the conflict? Haris’s dog mounts Mrs. Zuckermeier’s purebred dog. In this dramatic episode, not only classes but two worlds collide. During the confrontation, the deep-rooted differences and tensions between the two dog owners are revealed. But as the argument drags on, the carefully maintained facades of the two protagonists become increasingly fragile. “In the Prater” explores the complex social and cultural dynamics that resonate in a seemingly banal conflict.
