Good Luck, Foreigner! – A Monologue

Glück auf, Ausländer! – Monolog

“Good Luck, Foreigner!” is a monologue that focuses on a woman’s deeply human confrontation. She faces an existential dilemma: Should she quit her demanding job and thereby jeopardize her father’s cancer treatment, whom she financially supports, or should she stand up to a boss who has already placed her on the downsizing list? “Good Luck, Foreigner!” offers an in-depth observation of this complex situation from every conceivable perspective—both the possible and the impossible. It is about the challenge, which reflects the depth of human decision-making and the determination of cultural identity in a unique way.

This monologue play was awarded the prestigious Exil Dramatist Prize in 2008, presented by Wiener Wortstätten & Exil-Literaturpreise Wien.
